Quinta de Merouço is the result of the reconstruction of a dwelling dating from 1874.

The rehabilitation followed a rigorous requalification project which, respecting the architectural features of the Douro and using the most advanced methods and technologies, created a space of excellence and comfort. With contemporary decoration and design, the Estate is now home to two houses, Casa do Rio and Casa do Rolapipas, with rooms overlooking the river, fully equipped kitchens, dining rooms, living rooms, leisure and games rooms, with fireplace, balconies, swimming pool and several garden terraces, all with panoramic views of the river and a private pier.

Designed to welcome families, groups of friends, small groups of tourists and companies, it has terraces and the river at hand, ideal for water sports and leisure or even parties in total privacy, in harmony with the beauty of this wonderful land, with the privilege of enjoying its aromas and flavours.

If you reach out, it will feel as if you could touch the vines on the opposite bank of the river. This is because Quinta de Merouço is set in a rural environment next to the Douro River. The surrounding area is landscaped and has paths for cars and pedestrians, including parking areas.

Our concept is simple: to bring our guests closer to nature, with the comfort and the excellent location of the Estate.

Arriving by land, the road climbs an 800-metre hill from the Alijó plateau down to the banks of the Douro River. The journey offers a panoramic view, with a perfect marriage between the valleys and mountains covered in vineyards and the bed of the Douro River.

Arriving by boat is no less impressive. Reach Quinta de Merouço by boat from Pinhão or another quinta, at our private pier, in a service we can arrange. On this trip, enjoy a glass of Port wine. Feel at the centre of attention, immersed in the beauty of nature. With the warm, dry air at your fingertips, take in the slopes of vineyards and olive trees, in a setting worthy of a film.
